Congratulations to Isabelle Soh (CTG 129, 2015)

UOB Painting of the Year – Emerging Category Gold Award

The UOB Painting of the Year competition is the longest running annual art competition in Singapore, and one of the most prestigious in South-East Asia to validate the artistic endeavours of talented and emerging artists. We are extremely delighted that our H2 Art Student, Isabelle Soh (CTG 129, 2015) has been awarded the UOB Painting of the Year – Emerging Category Gold Award for her painting entitled Room.

This acrylic and oil painting explores the surreal quality of space, where one questions the existence of self and one’s surroundings, thus blurring the boundaries of both worlds. This attempt to capture the flux of ephemeral existence into painting certainly captured the attention of the panel of judges and DPM Teo Chee Hean, who graced the UOB 2015 Awards Ceremony as the Guest of Honour
