Graduating students from Singapore secondary schools can apply to enrol into the College before sitting for their Secondary Four / Five Preliminary Examination if they meet the following criteria:

For Physical Sports

For Air Weapons/Shooting, Badminton, Basketball, Cross Country/Track & Field, Floorball, Football, Netball, Squash, Table-tennis, Tennis, Tenpin Bowling, Volleyball and Wushu, candidates should satisfy one of the following:

·           National Team/ Youth/ Singapore Combined Schools OR

·           Achieved Top 4 in the Zonal Inter-school ‘B’ Division Team Championships 2016 OR

·           Achieved Top 8 in the National Inter-school ‘B’ Division Team Championships 2016 OR

·           Outstanding individual talent in sports.

Shortlisted applicants may undergo an interview and/or a selection trial

For Performing Arts Groups

For Choir/Chorale, Chinese Drama, Chinese Orchestra, English Drama, Guitar Ensemble, Dance (including Indian and Malay Dance), Modern Dance, Symphonic Band, candidates should satisfy the following:

·           Gold/Silver in Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging OR

·           Participation in prestigious competitions or festivals OR

·           Outstanding individual talent in the performing arts.

Shortlisted applicants may undergo an interview and/or a selection trial

For Individual Talents (excluding Sports and Performing Arts)

For Chinese Chess and International Chess, candidates should satisfy the following:

·        Achieved awards in competitions OR

·        Participated in prestigious competitions.

Digital Literacies

The merged JC is committed to developing digital literacies and life skills for creative expression and innovation in the 21st century workplace. The Makers’ Academy (MA) CCA is a niche CCA that empowers students with more specialised new media, coding and innovation skills that are increasingly valued in various tech and non-tech professional fields. Students will choose to receive training in one of the four areas and build a strong portfolio for university admission. There are also opportunities for like-minded students to initiate projects that involve a range of media skills.

For those who wish to develop leadership qualities, they can look forward to opportunities to lead and impact peers within the college or nationally through their productions and organisation of national conferences. Some of the community and national projects our students have been involved in include the organisation of the Cyber Wellness Student Ambassador Conference (with MOE and IMDA) and the film productions for MOE, CDAC and NUH.

We welcome students who have the passion and experience in working with new media and digital technologies. While the MA programme is especially relevant to those considering higher education fields in art,design, media and communications, computing and technopreneurship, it also develops thinking, project management and leadership skills that are relevant to other fields in the future workplace. Whether you have an artistic streak or are inclined towards technology and engineering, you can find a rewarding experience developing yourself in one of the following:

·    Digital Photography(including photo editing)

·    Digital Filmmaking(directing, storyboarding, video-editing etc.)

·    Mobile App Design(programming/coding, app making, game making etc.)

·    Arduino Making(programming/coding, robotics, micro-controllers)

All applications should be accompanied by a portfolio consisting of:

  ·        An essay not more than 300 words explaining your passion in any area of digital literacies (compulsory)

  ·        Personal portfolio comprising photographs, films, storyboards and scripts, presentations, clips or prototypes of robotic, Arduino (or any microcontroller), programming, app projects you have made (compulsory)

·           Awards / certificates from relevant competitions (if any)

·           Certificates from related courses that you have completed (if any)

·           Reference letters from teachers (if any)

For Leadership

In the merged Junior College, we are committed to developing future-ready leaders and thinkers by providing leadership assignments, courses and mentoring structures as part of the holistic leadership development of our students. Experienced student leaders who have the passion to serve and hope to enhance their leadership competencies are invited to apply.

Applicants should preferably have the experience in the Executive Committee of their secondary school Students’ Council, Uniformed Groups (such as NCC land, NPCC, Scout Group etc.) or held the role of President or Vice-President of a club or society. 

All applications should be accompanied by a portfolio consisting of:

·            Leadership position held (compulsory)

·            Awards / certificates based on past leadership experience (if any)

·            Certificates from leadership courses that you have attended (if any)

·            Reference letters from teachers on your leadership

·            An essay not more than 300 words on your passion to serve/lead

Shortlisted applicants may undergo an interview.

Science Talent Programme

The Science Talent Programme further supports students’ holistic development through a breadth of enrichment activities and depth of scientific research. Students who join us will have multiple opportunities to challenge and prove themselves throughout their two years in college. All applicants should be accompanied by a portfolio consisting of:

·          Awards / certificates from relevant science competitions (if any)

·          Achievement and participation /involvement in Science research (if any)

·          Participation / involvement in Science Fairs / Exhibitions (if any)

·          Achievement  and participation in Science Olympiads (if any)

Shortlisted applicants may undergo an interview.

Application dates: Tuesday 27 June 2017 to Tuesday 25 July 2017

Acceptance of offer: Wednesday 26 July 2017 to Friday 28 July 2017, 3.00pm

Phase II

Application dates: Monday 31 July 2017 to Friday 25 August 2017

Acceptance of offer: Monday 28 August 2017 to Thursday 31 August 2017, 3.00pm

    • Personal statement (short write up on one's passion)
    • Character reference (coach, instructor etc)
    • Health declaration, if any
    • Academic and PFT results
