Cyber Wellness

Cyber Wellness [CW] @ YJC

Cyber Wellness refers to the positive well-being of Internet users. It involves an understanding of online behaviour and awareness of how to protect oneself in cyberspace.

The focus of CW is about helping students to become responsible digital learners.

Our students belong to a digital age that offers many opportunities for networking, learning and development.  The nature of the cyber world is, however, without limits and boundaries.  Hence there is an increasing need for a robust Cyber Wellness (CW) education for our students.

CW @ YJC is co-created by teachers and student CW ambassadors. Under the guidance of teacher mentors, CW ambassadors are empowered to propose and organise projects to influence and lead their peers in:

  • understanding the norms of appropriate use and responsible behaviour with regard to the use of technology
  • acquiring knowledge, skills, values and attitudes on how to protect oneself and other Internet users in the cyber world
  • promoting positive psycho-social well-being of peers in their use of mobile and Internet technologies and
  • harnessing the power of the Internet to benefit oneself and the community

The Cyber Wellness curriculum in YJC takes reference from the MOE Cyber Wellness Framework which focuses on the Sense-Think-Act process.
