Edusave Character Award

The Edusave Awards are given by the government annually to Singaporean students to enhance educational opportunities and motivate students to excel in academic and non-academic domains. Please refer to the attached information sheet regarding the various types of Edusave Awards.

The Edusave CHaracter Award (ECHA), which aims to recognise Singaporean students with exemplary character and outstanding personal qualities, was introduced in March 2012. This is part of the larger goal to foster an inclusive and stronger Singapore as we broaden the list of qualities to be encouraged and the level of achievements to be applauded. The award also supports schools’ continuing efforts in nurturing students who are of good character, active contributors and concerned citizens of Singapore.

Yishun Junior College recognises and affirms students who consistently demonstrate and uphold the college values of Integrity, Responsibility, Compassion, Commitment, and Loyalty. Nominees for ECHA should be of exemplary behaviour and able to inspire and motivate their peers. They should also demonstrate or continue to demonstrate sustained efforts in working towards the betterment of others.

ECHA awardees will each receive a certificate and an award voucher of S$500.

The nomination form for ECHA can be downloaded here.
